About us

TK Asia Consult was established in May 2018 by Torsten Kaehlert. The initial idea behind this venture was to support SME in their positioning towards Financial Institutions, provide practical advice for workable use cases, help promote an account management culture and guide on market strategies.

While the model still stands and is a cornerstone of the company, business entry to Asia (with a focus on Singapore and Thailand as well as Japan via the sister company HTK Connect Pte Ltd) was added as a value-added service.

Delivery of Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) solutions has been included as an additional focus area: In his corporate career Torsten has always been passionate about staff development and ensuring a future proof workforce. Modern SWP tools and data availability significantly enhance these tasks, and it is a pleasure to introduce these to interested parties in Asia.

Torsten grew up in several countries in APAC, learned his trade and completed his studies in his native Germany before spending a large part of his career to date as a Banker in various local, regional and global business functions. In total he has lived more than 20 years in Singapore and 11 years in Japan – next to English and German he also speaks fluent Japanese.

In Banking he initially managed relationships with a broad range of Multinational Corporates in Europe and Asia. Subsequently he became increasingly involved in designing and implementing business strategies for APAC, including talent development, process effectiveness and business-oriented risk control.

He has a keen interest in talent management, strategy development / implementation as well as relationship / stakeholder management.

Torsten is the Founder of TK Asia Consult and oversees all consulting activities. He has been advising as an independent Consultant since 2018.
